Intermediate level
Intermediate yoga classes are typically designed for students who have a basic understanding of yoga postures and breathing techniques, and are looking to take their practice to the next level. These classes may include more challenging postures and sequences, and may be taught at a faster pace than beginner classes. Intermediate classes may also include more advanced breathing techniques, such as pranayama, and may incorporate more meditation and relaxation practices.
The Intermediate classes are appropriate for students wanting to focus on the next level of asans , which are more in depth with deeper instructions on standing and seated poses, actions such as forward extensions, twisting, beginner back extensions and inverted postures will be included in this level.
Students will systematically begin learning inversions such as SalambaSarvangasana (Shoulder Stand). Restorative and pranayama are also introduced.
With practice, you will build stamina and endurance that will be much needed in order to advance ones yogic practice . Students would be subjected to deeper learning and usage of props which would enable them to stay in a pose for longer periods of time , which is the quintessential part of Iyengar yoga.
Pranayama/Restorativeposesare introduced to Explore the practice of breath awareness and modification along with refreshing restorative asanas.
